Incentive funding can support any of the following: workshops, network building, other activities which will contribute to acquisition of external financing (Norwegian Research Council, EU etc.) or pilot projects with a view to larger projects.

 

The call has the following strategic priorities:

·       The activity must contribute to the Fram Centre objective and cooperation goals.

·       The proposal should address new and original ideas.

·       Trans/inter disciplinary activities will be prioritized.

·       Each application must include at least 3 Fram Centre members.

 

Given an anticipated total financing of ca. 3 million NOK (the suggested budget is still to be approved), we aim to fund projects with a maximum budget of 350 000 NOK. The project funds must be utilized in 2025.

The application form consists of the following sections:

1.       Title of the project/activity

2.       Project/activity leader

3.       Project/activity leader email

4.       Project/activity administrative leader

5.       Project/activity administrative leader email

6.       Name of lead institution

7.       What type of activity are you applying for?

8.       How will this project contribute to the main objective of the Fram Centre research cooperation goals?

9.       What is new and innovative in the activity? (250 words)

10.   Describe trans/inter disciplinarity of the project (250 words)

11.   How will the results be useful for the management of the Norwegian High North

12.   How will this project promote greater cooperation in the Fram Centre?

13.   Institutions in the Fram Centre who are involved

14.   Other Partners

15.   Project/activity plan with short description of objectives, relevance, impact and at least one specified deliverable (550 words)

16.   Briefly outline the role of the project managers and partners (250 words)

17.   Funding requested, including budget (specified by activities/institutions/own institutional funding

18. Total sum requested

Only applications submitted via the online form will be considered for financing. Proposals can be written in Norwegian or English

 

Evaluators

The evaluation committee is appointed by the Research leader Group (FLG) and approved by the Steering Group (SG) and conflicts of interest*(CoI is described below) will be handled appropriately. The evaluation committee will consist of representatives from the programs (a balance of disciplines inc. Social Scientists and Humanities (SSH)) FLG chair, FLG vice chair and Research coordinator.

* What is a conflict of interest?

CoI exists when you:

·    are and/or were directly involved in the preparation of any proposal submitted to the topic

·    benefit should any proposal(s) submitted to the topic be accepted or rejected

·   have a close family or personal relationship with any person representing an applicant legal entity (or named third parties) involved in the preparation of the proposal
