The Fram Centre/Framsenteret would like to invite applicants to submit proposals for activities financed under the incentive funding scheme for 2021.
The total funding available is about 800 thousand NOK.
The application deadline is 1 June 2021. For application details please see further down.
Incentive funding can support:
1. Pilot projects, with scientific relevance to the research in the Fram Centre collaboration. A pilot project must be something new and innovative, as well as being in preparation for new research projects. The financing limit is 250 thousand NOK. Projects which integrate several research fields or technology will be prioritized.
2. Workshops, conferences, networking and development of national and international research cooperation which strengthens the research in the Fram Centre. (max 50 000 NOK)
3. Planning and preparation of proposals for external funding (RCN, EU etc ) of projects with scientific relevance to the research in the Fram Centre. (max 50 000 NOK)
4. Activities which strengthen the Fram Centre’s role in education, i.e. research schools, educational programs and summer schools. (max 50 000 NOK)
5. Outreach projects that seek to communicate the research results produced in the Fram Centre to the public and other users (e.g. management). Communication platforms can be diverse. (max 50 000 NOK)
All projects which seek funding must include at least 3 participating member institutions in the Fram Centre. Cross disciplinary initiatives will be prioritized. (Updated list of member can be found here )

Each proposal can only cover one of the above areas.
The project funds should be utilized in 2021.

The application form consists of the following sections
1. Title of the project/activity
2. Project/activity leader and affiliation (incl. email)
3. Project/activity administrative leader (incl email)
4. Institutions in the Fram Centre who are involved
5. Other partners
6. Which of the areas above will you project cover?
7. Project/activity plan with short description of relevance, impact and at least one specified deliverable (max 550 words)
8. Funding requested, including budget (specified by activities/institutions/own institutional funding)
Only applications submitted via the online form will be considered for financing.
Proposals can be written in Norwegian or English
Evaluators
The evaluation committee will consist of the Flagship leaders, FLG leader and Research coordinator. At least one member will have social science background.
