FRAM Biology Student Conference: Research Interaction Day (March 5th)
We are thrilled to invite all our students at Arctic and Marine Biology and our FRAM colleagues to a new student conference held in cooperation with the FRAM Center.
This event is established for our students, but we hope many of you want to join our students! We aim for this to be an annual event with a high level of student involvement in the future.
Please feel free to visit the conference when you have an opening in your time schedule if you are not able to attend the entire day. Especially the session from 12:45 – 14:00 “Meet the researchers” is a great opportunity for interaction with both students and other colleagues.
What: The FRAM Biology Student Conference aims to serve as a platform to bring students, educators, researchers, and management closer together. The institutes at the FRAM Centre and related organizations have a long history of collaboration within research, and we aim to extract more synergies from these activities towards education and talent recruitment for the institute and management sector. As an educational institution, we therefore wish to enhance students’ competence, insight, collaboration, and understanding of contemporary activities into our educational program so that our candidates are well-acquainted with and meet the region’s competence needs. In Tromsø, we have an advantage in achieving this effectively as we already collaborate on many projects and also within education, which is further strengthened through co-location of various infrastructures.
Through the FRAM Biology Student Conference, we aim to create a mutual opportunity space for increased collaboration around the master’s program in Biology and explore the possibility for student internships. We hope this will motivate our students to pursue directions within biological topics relevant to the Northern Areas, the Arctic, and the Polar regions, and to provide a platform for early talent recruitment for the institute and management sector.
